I can't believe that the cable is down, what the hell did you do this time Steph? Streec exclaimed from the top of his lungs as he just stared at the television in awe. I told you, it's not my fault, I've already called the cable company and was told that they're doing some configurations, deal with it, she snapped back at him, smirk on her face. Why do they always do these things on a Saturday afternoon? That's when the best shows are on, this totally blows, he replied. It's not like I know, so why don't you just shut up and help me with Shadowseek today? Steph said as she stuffed some crackers in her mouth as she walked out the door towards the paddock.
Gah, I don't want to help, he replied. He noticed there was no answer, he finally figured out that she had fled. She's too quick for me. He grabbed his working boots and slipped them on quickly, then he walked outside. Streec get over here! He sighed, Yeah I'm coming.
I need you to brush down Shadow's coat for me, followed with a tack up, then take him onto the outdoor track, she explained to him. You didn't really need to explain that to me, afterall, Shadow is my horse, but thanks, he said to her with a hint of sarcasm, and he quickly took Shadow into his control. She didn't say anything, she just laughed.
After he got Shadow ready, all tacked and groomed, he quickly got over to the outdoor track. He mounted on, the horse balancing his weight steadily. Shadow became slightly hyper, but he quickly calmed down. Easy there, easy. At the sound of the gates opening, the two were on their way. Streec held onto the reins steadily, slightly bending his knees, bottom up slightly into the air. He had control on Shadow, even though the horse was getting a little old, Streec knew that there was still a young horse inside his spirit. Come on boy, we're coming to the fourth furlong, you can do it, he said to the stallion who was determined, flaring his nostrils every so often, but he was oversped. Streec pulled the reins slightly to slow down into a steady pace. Last furlong now boy, come on, come on, you can do it.. It was the final stretch, Shadow's pace was quickening up into a sprint. Sprint, sprint.
They finally finished, with the two slowing down into a walk. Great job.
