The chestnut filly awake in her stall, she had just arrived from Memoir Stables. Her name plate which was placed on the stall bars read "Simplicity". She certainly was beautiful. Her coat shone brightly as the morning sun shone in through the paddock doors. Awaiting her arrival were Steph Williams, and Streec Rakku, the people who ran Oakridge Ranch, the home in which she now resides in. She was one the few foals sired by Bonfire, she certainly had his amazing accomplishments in her blood. There was going to be alot of pressure on her to excel, being bred from two powerful Thoroughbreds, but she knew she could handle it. She snorted softly at the sound of the horses around her, it was a new place for her, she was just beginning to find her way now, as she had just arrived a few days prior.
Back at the main house, hectic as usual, Steph was trying to get everything organized, for both her and Streec before they went over to the paddock to officially greet Simplicity.
Streec, you need to get up and ready, we're going to train Simplicity today for the first time, she told him sternly as he just lay on the couch, staring at the television endlessly. Meh.. he replied, nothing productive ever came out of his mouth in the morning. Do you even care?! This day is a very important day for me, I really want to make a champion out of this filly, and what are you doing? Sitting here on the couch watching cartoons! Steph shouted to him, maybe something she said would register through his thick skull. He nodded, and got up from the couch. Alright, I'm getting ready. I'll meet you at the paddock in a few minutes. Steph sighed, grabbing the lead chain off the kitchen table, and left for the paddock, Alright.
Once at the paddock, she tied her long brown hair back into a ponytail. Her forehead covered with sweat, she already felt disgusting, and she hadn't even done anything yet. Wiping her forehead with a handkerchief, she sighed, Talk about stress.
Walking slowly along the paddock walls, she brushed her hand by each horses stall, reading all the name plates. Finally she reached the right one, it read 'Simplicity' in bright bronze letters. She just stared in awe at the chestnut filly, You're just beautiful. Hearing her words, Simplicity gave a loud whinny, shaking her head, rubbing it against the bars. Steph reached her hand through the bar, patting the foal's soft pelt. I think I'll call you Mandie.
Streec finally left the main house, and headed over to wards the paddock. He happened to spot Steph over by the house. He walked over slowly, approaching them both. She's great isn't she? he said to Steph. Why thank you, she responded back. Of course, he just chuckled, Not you, the filly. Steph just rolled her eyes playfully, I just can hardly believe that she's here, she's like, my dream come true. A Bonfire foal, oh I'm just so excited! Streec nodded in agreement, I know. So what have you decided for her barn name? She smiled at him, I think the name Mandie suits her, what do you think? He nodded in agreement, That works. Anyways, I'll let you two go now, I'll be in the main house if you need anything, just holler. Steph brushed her hand through her hair, and smiled, Alright.
She opened the stall door, letting the filly come out. The filly walked out cautiously, nickering every so often, she was timid. Baby, it's okay, Steph reassured, patting the chestnut's side as her long body slipped out. She slid the bridle onto Simplicity quickly, grabbing her softly, directing the foal to the side of the stall to be tacked up.
First things first, Steph used the stable rag, and gently removed any dirt that was on Simplicity. The foal had just arrived, so Steph wasn't expecting any major dirt, but she felt it was better to remove any possible dirt anyways. After wards, Steph gently brushed down the foal's coat, removing any knots in the mane, and in the tail. Simplicity flickered her ears forward, she was slightly irritated because she hated being brushed down. Almost done. She attached the lead chain, and walked down to the track.
Steph mounted up onto the filly. Simplicity adjusted to the new weight, moving slightly to each side. She started tossing her head, and whinnied wildly, this is what happens with a horse that's a bit nervous. It's alright, I know this is new for you. Steph clicked her heels, asking for a walk. Instead, Simplicity decided to bolt forward, Slow down, slow down. Steph pulled the reins tightly, grasping more control on the speed, now they were into a trot. Don't scare me like that again. The filly's legs extended forward, trotting in a graceful manner, it was a fast paced trot, but still it was an enjoyable ride. She grasped the reins, transitioning from a trot to a canter. The horse agreed, and the two were then cantering, four hooves in an acceptable way of movement. They were done for the day, it had been a good start.
Streec decided to take a look at Steph and how she was doing. She was doing great with him. He jogged onto the track, Hey Steph, wait up! Turning her head around, she saw Streec from afar, taking the reins, she turned around, slowing into a walk. Halting, she smiled. I just love her, isn't she great? she asked him. Yeah I agree, I love her too. But I was talking about the both of you, he said to her with a grin.
